Al Daspin

Al Daspin offers a broad range of experience in representing national and regional developers in acquisition, entitlement, construction, joint venturing, financing, leasing, build-to-suit, dispositions, condominium, and related development matters. His development practice spans office, retail, industrial, hotel, student housing, multi-family, and residential product types, and includes structuring major vertical and horizontal mixed-use projects throughout the country. He also works extensively with institutional investors and property owners in leveraged sale and leaseback transactions, as well as the acquisition and disposition of, and loans on, income-producing properties, construction and permanent financings and refinancings, including preferred equity investments, entity formation, ownership restructurings, and like-kind exchange transactions.

In addition, Mr. Daspin represents lenders and borrowers in major loan restructurings and workouts for distressed commercial real estate projects of all types, including office buildings and complexes, residential single and multi-family developments, shopping centers and specialty projects. Mr. Daspin assists a variety of entities in structuring joint venture arrangements, tax increment, special assessment and bond financings, sales tax revenue and other public financings, and conventional and non-conventional mortgage financings, including mezzanine and preferred equity borrowings and financings. He also handles a wide variety of property management and construction related issues.

Mr. Daspin has published numerous articles on a wide variety of real estate issues for publications such as Real Estate Review, The Practical Real Estate Lawyer, Commercial Leasing Law & Strategy, Real Property Probate and Trust Journal, various ALI-ABA leasing publications, and Shopping Center Legal Update. Mr. Daspin serves on the editorial board of Commercial Leasing Law & Strategy.​
